Please read through the MCR Rope Jam Rules to ensure everyone has a great night! If you have purchased a ticket for another person, please ensure you forward them the link to these rules.
First and foremost we request that all persons are expected to considerate of others when in the MCR space.
Supervisors will be visible by MCR crew tags.
Photography & Videography Policy:
- No flash photography please as it distracts other people who are trying to enjoy the event.
- Please try and minimise the presence of anyone else in your photo / video, including any reflections in mirrors or similar.
- Videos are generally prohibited in classes / workshops, and should be minimised at jams and other events.
- Photos / videos must be cropped or blurred before posting so that anyone else in the photo is not identifiable. This includes faces, tattoos, and any other identifying features.
- If taking a video, please ensure noone else’s voice is audible or identifiable before posting it.
- If in doubt, please check with a DM before taking a photo / video.
During Play:
- Please ensure you and your rope partner have had consent and negotiation discussions prior to tying.
- Please ensure the safety of all our patrons by no running, tackling or wrestling (other than as part of rope play on the mats) as this may impact those around you.
- Nudity (as defined as bare genetalia) is only permissible during play. Please put your clothes on when not tying and/or not being tied.
- Sexual penetration using or involving genetalia of any kind (including items used) is strictly forbidden and you will be asked to leave the venue immediately.
- Please limit your time under a point to 45 minutes to ensure everyone has the opportunity to use the available suspension points. You will be given a 10 minute warning by venue crew. This warning will be subtle and will not interfere with your scene.
- Please tie to your skill level. If you want to try something you are not very experienced with, please ask for a crew spotter.
- Please follow all reasonable requests made by crew, including safety advice if we deem an action unsafe for you, your rope partner, or others around.
- No food or drinks are to be left on mats or the floor around play areas. Bottled water is permissible providing there is a closable lid.
- If you are self suspending, you must have a spotter.
- You must have your own equipment including safety equipment, although there will also be venue safety equipment.
Outside of Play:
- Please be respectful of persons tying and note they may be tying on the floor or at a suspension point.
- Unless otherwise invited, please do not talk to people engaged in a rope scene together.
- If there is a designated chill out zone, this is not a space for play.
- Please do not pressure others to play, everyone has a right to say no, including persons tying and being tied.
- Please do not engage in non rope scenes. This is first and foremost a rope event and is not a play party in which you may expect to be able to engage in play that does not include rope.
- Be kind to your fellow community and understand that everyone’s style of rope is different.
- You are expected to follow all reasonable instructions from any member of the MCR crew.
Stay safe and happy rope jamming with us!
Kind regards,
The MCR crew.
